The activity of the Open Art gallery, founded in 2001, alternates historical authors with younger ones, in the sign of continuity and coherence between past and present. There are two main lines of the exhibition programme: the first is exemplified by artists such as Toti Scialoja, Gerard Schneider and Jiri Kolàr to whom the gallery dedicates exhibitions that also tend to confirm the topicality of their painting and their message. Particular attention is devoted to the development of the gestural approach and, more specifically, to American Abstract Expressionism with artists such as Paul Jenkins, Conrad Marca-Relli, Norman Bluhm, Michael Goldberg, John Ferren, James Brooks and Sam Francis. The other area of interest is that relating to the sculpture of the Italian twentieth century which is illustrated, for example, by artists such as Francesco Somaini, Marino Marini, Mauro Staccioli, Quinto Ghermandi. On the occasion of each exhibition the Open Art Gallery publishes a bilingual catalog
