Frittelli arte contemporanea opened its current headquarters in 2006 in the north-west part of Florence. After the experience of Centro d’Arte Spaziotempo – founded in 1989 and located in the city center – Carlo and Simone Frittelli chose the suburban district grown next to dismissed or closed factories, a place of continuous processes of integration and coexistence, where ongoing social and cultural changes can be observed. The gallery features works of art in various media, with particular attention to postwar Italian abstract art (Vasco Bendini, Vinicio Berti, Corrado Cagli), Analytical Painting (Riccardo Guarneri, Paolo Masi, Lucio Pozzi), Visual Poetry (Nanni Balestrini, Tomaso Binga, Ketty La Rocca, Giuseppe Chiari, Lucia Marcucci, Eugenio Miccini, Luciano Ori, Lamberto Pignotti) and to artistic figures such as Georges Adéagbo, Gianni Bertini, Pino Pascali, Mimmo Rotella, Arturo Vermi, an eye open to newer generation (Andrea Francolino, Luca Matti, Susana Serpas Soriano) and a special focus on photography (Aurelio Amendola, Paola Di Bello, Paola Mattioli, Libera Mazzoleni). Among the gallery’s purposes, there is the critical and philological recognition of art in Italy from the 1950s to the present, pursued also through close cooperation with museums, foundation, public institutions, the dialogue with artists, curators, critics, art historians, and collectors. The Archivio per l’Opera grafica di Pino Pascali, the Archivio Frittelli per l’Opera di Gianni Bertini, the Archivio Frittelli per l’Opera di Vinicio Berti are located at the gallery.
